  1. Only really shown what he can do this season and I think he would be silly to move. However, I won't lose much sleep over him going.

Nor shall I. He has always shown flashes of what he may be capable of doing but never with any consistency. He has played better this season but I have seen nothing to make me think he will not be easily replaceable if he does leave. See him scoring against us for Dundee United in a couple of seasons when his big move to the championship does not work out.

  2. Until the major leagues realise the TV companies do actually need them more than the clubs need TV this sort of shite will continue to happen.

It's a catch 22 that one is it not? The EPL needs Sky money to stay afloat and Sky need the EPL to stay afloat. It will not bother the english clubs one bit that Aberdeen or any other teams fans from another league are being fucked about in such a shameful manner as they will continue to rake the cash in. They don't even care enough about their own fans when it comes to the scheduling of their matches that will be on TV. They need Sky and Sky needs them. This won't change and both know it is in their best interests too keep the other party happy most of the time.

  3. You ever been to a pub in Montrose? I'll give you 3 minutes in one until you find yourself on the way to Dundee.

Ha. Spent a week there before on a fire team course. Only thing I'm not sure of is the trains as I don't usually get them. Not sure if the train will be going back Aberdeen way after the game. I did wonder about the hassle of getting a ticket but judging by the amount of folk not going I don't think that will be a problem.
  4. Abysmal game. I'll take the OG though and it was nice to see a bit of good luck go our way.

I didn't think Young was that bad in the grand scheme of things. I didn't think he was good either but then none of those wearing red really covered themselves in glory. Just glad to be in the next round at the end of the day.

  5. Currently enjoying a book by Paul McGuigan (Oasis) and Paolo Hewiit entitled "The Greatest Footballer You Never Saw" which is the poignant, funny and tragic story of Robin Friday.

    Reminds me of this:

I am currently reading a book entitled absolute war: soviet russia in the second world war. Seems good so far.

  6. Aye its amazing what a club with supposedly nae cash can put together.

Fuck off Smith. As per usual you have outspent 99% of the SPL. No money the plook on my arse.

I put this point to a hun I know and was informed that it was different though as youz dinna need onymare money. We hiv got ti challenge on four fronts and go for i league. Youz hiv only ti go for europe.

When I explained to him that this was utter horse shit and we would also like to spend big to win the league, the league cup and the Scottish cup as well as compete in Europe he looked incredulous that an aberdeen fan should get so far above his station. Seems the rest of the league should be happy with what we have got but god forbid one of the old firm spends so much money the banks decide it is unwise to let them rack up further debt that they will struggle to pay they pull the plug. Utter deluded fuck nuggets.

  7. I think they will cause us some problems but not many in an attacking sense. I think we will pin them back for most of the 90 minutes but do have a sneaky feeling they will score a consolation goal.

    In/Out: Out

    Pre Match: Working

    Match: Working

    Post Match: Working

    Prediction: 3-1 the dons

  8. Another shocker from Diamond by all accounts?

Fucking pathetic. A complete disaster from start to finish. I think the one move that summed him up was when he had an easy header back to langfield but instead of this option he decided to blindly hack it out for a Celtic throw inviting yet more pressure on us needlessly.
  9. Fucking shocker. Fucking despise Celtic and everything they and Lennon stand for.

After Saturday's capitulation, we needed a strong start to build some confidence. Up step Andrew Cunting Considine. Caught flat footed from the off and from then on he was walking a tight rope. I'm not angry at him for the foul because I would like to see it again, from my view it looked as if Brown took about 3 steps before falling but I'm mad at it for being caught in that position from the start. Ref gives penalty and sends him off. Fuck. Good save by Langfield. I could have seen a real drubbing if that had gone in.

I think Brown made the right call in sticking Blackman up front on his own initially as we needed some real pace and mobility up front which Vernon, try as he might, would have not provided. Jack went off injured and McNamee went off. First half was disasterous for us. Could have been 2 or 3 down but we had a really good spell towards the end of the half with Blackman being denied what looked a penalty for a trip on him, Maguire having a good shot saved and we were unlucky to score from a corner after a scramble.

Second half, it was more of the same as Celtic pressed us from side to side. Did well to hold out as long as we did and we didnt really create anything of note. Once the second goal went in, that was it. Although we were again denied what looked to be a clear penalty for a handball after a corner with Hartely booked for his protests. The referee was absolutely shocking. Really abysmal. Denied what looked like 2 clear penalties and he couldn't keep his cards in his pockets when it came to an Aberdeen player yet Celtic players, try as they might, just could not get booked! Celtic conspiracy my arse. I really do despise them and to have Lennon and their fans bleeting about how they should have a penalty is fucking low. Scum of the highest order.

Diamond was shite once again. Really taught a lesson by Hooper and Stokes (not for the first time) and I will be amazed and disgusted if he signs a new contract. Langfield can go, he didn't have the worst of his games today with some smart saves but he still breeds panic in the backline. McNamee cant seem to get a decent run of games under his belt either. Smith looked alright when he came on. Vernon didnt do much but then again, he really isnt a right winger or a left winger. Blackman did ok as did Maguire. Good to see Hartely really putting his foot in and putting in a shift. At no point was he over-run in the centre of midfield and he more than held his own. Wouldn't write him off just yet. Milsom gets my vote for man of the match, good left foot, always looking for a decent pass and likes to get the ball down on the deck. Get him signed up to a longer contract!

    Celtic and Lennon=Scum.

Good post and pretty much sums up the game for me as well. Only thing I would add is before their first it looked a clear handball on the left wing. The ref was atrocious. Pulled play back needlessly but let things go on when there was no advantage to us. Lennons fucking abysmal campaign against refs has worked a fucking treat and the ref tonight could not wait to give them free kicks and book dons players for anything but was shy as fuck when it came to booking any of them. Don't think considine should have been sent off and I am still not convinced it was even a pen. We certainly should have had a pen at the start of the second half and would also like to see blackmans again as well. Over all a thourghly wretched refereeing performance killed the game before it had even started.

I have not seen nor read any post match comments but if that wee snarling scrotum faced cock sucker Lennon complains about the ref then he must be sectioned under the mental health act.

  10. What a load of pish.

Saturday was terrible but you don't just suddenly give up on the lads after one game.  There has been a huge improvement since Broon came on board and the players and club should get all they backing we can give them through what will be a tough month or two.  Tough, because although we have improved massively we are still stuck with the majority of the squad McGhee assembled.

The problem is that some may see it as not only one game. Three chances to progress to a final have ended up in absolute spankings. The celtic game some may seem as the last straw. Indeed there has been a vast improvement under brown and knox but we are still in the bottom half of the league with some very hard games still to come. The thoughts of some may be that they have been booted in the balls once too many by this current dons team and various individuals in it and do not wish to pay for the privilege of that happening again. I must admit I felt like this after the game on Saturday. I will be going tonight though. Glutton for punishment I am!

  11. Is it worth seeing in the cinema or is it a film I can quite happily watch in the comfort of my own home?

I watched it at home. I don't think you are going to miss much watching it at home. Unless you are watching it on a 21" screen.
  12. http://m.stv.tv/sport/football/scottish-premier/aberdeen/224793-aberdeen-to-move-for-two-former-rangers-players/

Steven Smith and Stephen Hughes according to STV now. It just wouldn't be a transfer window if we were not linked with Stephen Hughes.

Aberdeen could bolster their squad with two new signings before the transfer window closes. Craig Brown is hopeful of concluding deals for Steven Smith and Stephen Hughes within the next few hours.

Left back Smith and midfielder Hughes are both looking for new clubs and look to have found a home at Pittodrie. The duo could go straight into the squad for tuesday night's match against Celtic if the signings are completed in time.

  13. £35 million. Fuck me. The price of transfers between english clubs is so over inflated as to be ridiculous. Its not like he is being linked with a big money move elsewhere. Its a ludicrous price to pay for a geordie ned, I mean young english footballer.
