  1. It is all well and good having a revolution but the main problem with getting rid of Milne is replacing him with a wealthy benefactor that will both clear the debt and provide new finance for the football side of the club. As far as I can see if Milne did decide "I've had enough and I am walking and you can look after the debt yourself" then we would be in a worse state than we are at the present time. Yes he may have presided over a piss poor period for our club but he has also presided over a period of change in football where the haves have got richer and the have nots have got poorer.

Who do you suggest we replace him with? If you have a revolution then you must also have an idea on how it ends. The ousting of milne could only be the start.

  2. There is no excuse for this. I don't understand AFC. Why do they not just stop all of the players using social networking sites like Face Book and Bebo. This should have been implemented after the Maguire episode a few years ago.

Diamond is the worst offender here for me as he is our vice captain and should, out of the two, know better. Rather than encourage Paton he should have been telling him to delete the comments. Do our players have so little common sense as to think this would not be found and splattered all over the papers?

  4. I am rapidly losing interest in everything AFC related. The product on the park is as bad as anything I can remember and it is starting to beg the question with myself, and others I go to the football with, if it is worth the price of a season ticket let alone travelling costs etc involved. Basically we wonder if we would be better going to the pub on a saturday afternoon. At least we would get some enjoyment from that.

  5.

JC used the financial restrictions to point out that he wasn't being backed by the club, MM is using the financial restrictions to point out that the club (he) cannot do more with what resources are available. That's fucking bullshit but it's the type of bullshit Milne wants the manager of his failing business to be saying. The difference is subtle but it's all about PR and nothing to do with reality.

Don't post on here a lot but I agree with this. My big problem with Mcghee is the way that he has used the resources. The squad is ridiculously overloaded with strikers so that we have relied on players playing out of position to provide us with any sort of width. The defensive situation is shambolic also. I am no great fan of foster but feel that to get rid of him for another striker was foolish when we had so much of them on the books already yet we are being forced to play Considine at LB. Hopefully things improve when we get most of our squad back but the actual squad it self is the main problem.

  6. This article should really read along the lines of: "Celtic not thinking of Mcghee so he is stuck where he is so he will babble some nonsense to try and look good."

After the disaster that has been this season I do not think any team, let alone Celtic, will want to take Mcghee off our hands and if he thinks they may be looking at him then I would say he is delusional.

  7. your that it would be a gamble interms fitness, but in terms of ability, he is a known quantity and would at worst be available for 50% of the time.

Anderson and diamond certainly sounds a better proposition than diamond and Ifil does it not?

If we have been able to defend in half the games we've played this season, we'd be in a much better position / mood.

i.e. if we had had a better defence for 50% of the season then we might have even been better placed to take advantage of Hibs recent slump and be in contention for a Euro place.

Plus McGhee would get back  onside with the fans with a signing like that?

Getting the fans onside should play no part in Mcghees thinking when making signings. If he thinks that a player can improve the team it should matter not a jot if the fans think he is either shit or a prick.

  8. Thing with this is though, does a pairing like this not have to be  given time ie 5 or six games in which to be judged, of which we, as supporters are unlikely to give them, such is our perogative?

The one thing I would say about this is that our strikers are not what you would call prolific in their current partnerships so I think most fans are used to this. I am sure we would give them 5 or 6 games together to maybe find an understanding. I mean how long have we given Darren Mackie and some supporters still think the sun shines out of his arse.

  9. I opted for Maguire and Paton.

I would like to see what these two could when played up top with one another. Maguire shows flashes of what he can do and an extended run in the team may make these flashes more frequent. I also feel Paton is slightly wasted on the left and would be better employed as a striker to see what he can do there. We have tried most other partnerships and they have failed so that is another reason.

On Paton I feel a partnership with Miller would almost be counter productive as his strike rate is so low it would put a burden on young Patons shoulders to score almost every game and I would not like to see him burdened with that at such a delicate time in his career.

  10. Any highland league club that goes £100,000 into debt deserves to go under.

Speaking to a man I work with whoms son plays for Clach youth I believe there is more to it than meets the eye than just running up a large amount of debt like AFC. I believe promises were made to the Clach board from the council in Inverness that have subsequently not been followed through on. I shall ask him when I see him next to explain the full story to me once more and shall relay my findings. Of course I may just have dreamt the whole thing and be speaking utter shit.

  11. I agree that our contract dealings have been farcical. Every player we are linked with ends up in the local and national press which inevitably leads to other parties being interested and a lesser chance of us securing said targets.

I would contend that this has been down to all parties concerned be it agents looking to get the best deal for his client and the senior management at Aberdeen. I do not think you can exclusivly point the finger of blame at WM though. MM has to take a fair portion of the blame since he arrived as he has mentioned numerous signing targets in the press before anything has been done let alone dusted.

As for Miller and McDonald would we really miss them. Although Miller offers the highball tactic as has been pointed out his scoring rate has been fantastic for all the wrong reasons and as, I would imagine, the highest paid player at the club this is not good enough. McDonald as far as I can see has offered nothing this season and would not be missed. I would be more dissapointed to see Miller leave than McDonald but would not be overly worried if both go.

  12. Could somebody please explain to me why I should be made to pay more for being able-bodied? Surely thats discriminatory to me?

I hesitate to say this due to it maybe being misconstrued but if you are fully able bodied all jobs are open to you if you have the relevant qualifications and abilities. Therefore you are able to get any job with any pay scale. This is not the case with those less fortunate than ourselves.

  13. Unfortunately the pessimist in DerBomber has taken over. I think, at this point, in time we shall get beat. The good news about them being skint seems to have galvanised the huns and is making them play better rather than worse and we, at this moment in time, are hardly setting the heather alight. I think we shall get beat 2-1. It is a game that will be won in the centre of midfield and ours has hardly been inspiring this season.

In saying all of that come friday I will be buzzing and after a couple of beers on saturday morning will no doubt have totally revised my opinion to "we're gan ti beat these bastards the day. I'm awa ti i bookies ti pit some money on it."

As a side note what will Lee Mcuntoch do in this game to make us hate him even more? I think he will elbow pawlett and escape any form of punishment.

  14.

This whole shirtlifting thing kicked off when Middlebrough signed Ravanelli in 1996. At the time I was confused as to why the press & FA etc were making such a big deal about a bloke showing his chest to the crowd but as far as I can recall it was deemed that the sight of a pro footballer running up the touchline showing his bare chest while covering his face could 'insight a riot' in England. So Ravanelli and Middlesbrough were actually told he could only do it if he wore a T shirt underneath. And of course the SFA followed suit

Pre 1996 remember seeing Duncan Ferguson taking his shirt off and waving it like a flag and I dont think he got booked but cant be sure.

Anyway IMO the only celebrations that should warrant a yellow card should be those that are conducted directy and deliberatly infront of the other teams fans, or possible jumping into the crowd to celebrate with yer own fans (potential injuries as the crowd surges forward- although thats happened at celtic park each time ive been there no dons player has left the pitch). Had Mcadonald done this infront of the East Stand then I could understand this booking but this really is pathetic but either way he gave away a really stupid yellow in the middle of the pitch (highlights) and knew the rules on celebrating so hes a bit of a muppet. But pro footballers aint usually famous for their intelligence.

I agree it is a stupid booking but I was unaware of the fact doing a ravenelli could lead to a booking. I know there is rules about having a tshirt on underneath your shirt with a message written on it.

I am also aware the removal of your top leads to a booking but I was under the impression that this was after the likes of Forlan scoring and throwing his top into the crowd and having to wait five minutes to get the game restarted.

Still think it was a nothing booking and the ref should have used his discretion.
