  1. Yes, his tactics have been wrong all along. I can't believe he got it so wrong, and we're playing in Europe next season instead of the first division. :-\

So sorry to piss on your parade MA but, our final league standing says more about the state of Scottish football than JC's wizardry as a manager. 5 points from our final 5 games!!!!

A lot of our points have come despite his tactics rather than because of them. Unentertaining football has become our trademark. Gate receipts would tend to confirm this. Seeing Russell Anderson, just as a single example, shrug towards the bench, clearly unsure of what was going on, as a substitution was made, shows even the players didn't fully understand what he was trying to do.

He is good at what he does best - taking a team who are struggling a bit (and we were) and stabilising the situation. He didn't seem to have the ability to take us that step further, even to a domestic cup final/win.

  2. cringeworthy!....

cant wait for the abuse that'll get us.

Totally cringeworthy and, from JC's point of view easily spun round to be seen as a mark of support for him. Therefore, apart from failing as a protest it has had the entirely opposite result from the one it set out to get.

Had that been another teams supporters we would have been pissing ourselves right now, and rightly so. That protest was probably more embarrasing than the exit to Dunfermline.

Carlsberg don't do protests, but if they did..................that certainly wouldn't have been one of them  :-\

  3. If the players care about JC staying as much as they say they do, then they should come out all guns blazing surely?

If it's nae your thing then it's nae your thing.

And to whichever person said it's been badly organised, what actually needs to be organised? Folk walking from the pub to the Main Stand? I know sometimes it's a struggle after a few but I don't think we're really needing an in-depth co-ordination strategy here.

I know it's difficult to think of "our" team coming out all guns blazing, but it's not difficult to think of a protest before the game not affecting the players coming on to the pitch.

And if the protest simply involves people walking from the pub to the main stand, you are right, doesn't need a lot of organisation, but equally not much of a protest  ???

I suspect JC is quaking in his hush puppies!!!

By the way, I am a Jimmy must go man, I just think your planned "protest" is pathetic.

EDIT : can't believe I typed slush, and that was before too much drink :o!!!!!

  4. One of the commentators said along the lines of "The players look like they don't know what they're doing!"

Nae like JC to have the players flummoxed  :hammer:

I remember a game at Pittodrie, when Russell was still with us, JC making a substitution and Russell gesturing to the bench that he didn't have a baldy what was going on.

    Same old same old  :-\

  5.

Calderwood has brought us respectability with decent league finishes.......

Decent yes, I've said before he has done well for us.

But thats it, he is doing no more now and, if anything, we are in danger of going backwards now. He is certainly not taking us on that wee bit more and the cup defeats are woeful and embarrassing.

  6. That was terrible listening. Sounded like we lacked almost a bit of everything, especially a cool head in defence! I'm not convinced we'll win another game this season the way we are playing. We cannot seem to score more than one goal anymore, almost like we used all our lives up in January.

Very little to be positive about. By the sound of it we stole a point from Motherwell - not that I'm bothered about that, a point is a point. Just see us getting found out by others, starting with ICT who have plenty to be hungry about.

Sorry to bring it back to JC again but, in his interview just now, he still clearly thinks the fans backlash is down to three games out of over two hundred. Reckons he is definately doing "somethng right". Arrogant bastard.

Win, lose or draw today was a definite chance to give a positive reaction to the fans despair, play well and show passion. I only listened to the game but it doesn't sound like this was remotely the case.

As said already above, Langfield and Bebo the saviours.

  7. Well, that's total bollocks.

Didn't think I was too far off the mark when I typed that. I've just checked on a route planner. Train station to Pittodrie 1.71 miles, train station to Loirston 2.95 miles  :-[

    Apologies for misinformation.

  8. The council granted planning permission a few weeks ago for a business park/hotel/'leisure facility' complex in the plot between the stadium site and Balmoral Group's premises.

The rail line that goes through Cove is about a mile from the stadium site, not sure how much it would cost to construct a station though. If they did build a station, it could link into the Inverurie-Stonehaven crosslink rail project. A concrete platform and some railings shouldn't be too expensive hopefully.

There used to be a station at Cove but there is now houses built where it used to be.

  9. Just got RedWeb again and its brought a smile to my face for a couple anti hun reason

    1. The 2-0 win on the last day of last season

    and more importantly

    2. The way Chris Clark just walks away knowing fine that he could of been red carded for his revenge tackle on Alan Hutton in the game just after Copenhagen. Remember watching it at home with my dad at home both angry with Hutton then both pissing ourselfs with laughter when he got his revenge

    Good times

Mate at work used stayed next door to Clark at that time. He had made a comment to Chris along the lines "tut tut Chris, bad tackle" aid Chris just shrugged and had a very proud looking grin on his face.

    Nice one Chris

  10. Speaking of ones who got away, Robert Fleck (was that his name?) who refused to sign cause we offered crap wages, his flatmate was my Taxi driver in Holland

How about David Ginolla few years back, had fallen out with manager at Spurs, all but agreed short term loan spell at Aberdeen, but wife wouldn't move north.

  11. So if he delivers one of the main objectives of our season then he should then be sacked?

    :hammer:

Regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season I think he should go. That maybe sounds crazy but I just think he has done all he can at Pittodrie. Having said that I want Aberdeen to finish as strongly as they can and as high as they can.

Regardless, I suspect this time next year we will be having similar conversations, East Fife or East Stirling - or similar - having humiliated us in the cup!!!

  12. Yep - it's a disgrace. And they already have us knocked out of Europe in the qualifiers if we get a Europa League space.

I'm really not sure why they bother... although, most of them don't actually bother to go - they're just internet messageboard warriors who "know best".

On another down market site - it's laughable to read the comments about how Mark McGhee is definitely coming (cumming?) - it's like some of them want to have McGhee's babies... sad as fuck.

As I said in another thread, anyone who wants Aberdeen to fail on the pitch in some hope of sealing Calderwoods fate is simply not a true Aberdeen supporter. Calderwood, regardless of results in the coming weeks, has sealed his own fate. It's just a pity those in power to do something about it don't have the guts (or the money?).

I will support Aberdeen, fully, till the day I die. I will not support Calderwood another day.

  13. This cup upset thing doesn't entirely wash with me though. It happens to every team at some time or another - even the Chelseas and the Liverpools of this world! Okay so we've had 3 bad results against lower league teams under Jimmy's reign, but 2 of them were in penalty shoot outs (and anything can happen in them). I'm in no way excusing the results, but the whole point of the cup means lower league teams try harder and sometimes determination beats quality.

Absolute rubbish. Firstly, it's not just three bad results, there are other areas we have totally failed, the first being playing an entertaining brand of football.

Second, the fact two of them were penalty shoot outs makes it even more embarrassing. The fact we couldn't dispose of one lower league side in 120 minutes and the other in 210 minutes adds to the pain.

These things do happen in the cup but, three seasons in a row............c'mon!!!!

  14. Should be entitled "Director Miller’s open letter to Red Army who can purchase an Evening Express", as it is not on Aberdeen FC website nor EE website.

I went to buy EE tonight, but over zealous bloody shop asistants had packaged them up for return. Wouldn't let me take one out of the pile as they had counted them!!!!

  15. To be honest, this league campaign has been completely uninspiring.  We had a dreadful opening to the season, pulled it together up until New Year, but apart from the win against celtic, we seem to be slipping into another poor run of form.

If we are to be taken seriously as a competing club we can not afford this. I think we will be lucky to still be in the top six come the split, as our brand of football is so, so poor and even if we end up either fifth or sixth, to throw the Club's comments back into thier teeth, this is a step backwards.  we have not maintained stability and we certaintly have not improved our cup form.

Will the board begin to panic if season ticket sales are less next season?  Couold this may be the deciding factor?

One possibility is that, now it has sunk through Calderwoods arrogant skull-if indeed it has-the strength of feeling against him, and some of the players may realise how badly they have let the fans down, we may see a bit of a transformation till the end of the season??

Ultimately I feel this will only paper over some extremely large cracks.

Lets hope [glow=red,2,300]our[/glow] club isn't too much of an embarrassment before Willie decides enough is enough.

  16. Did anyone here catch the Wales v Finland match?  Markus Heikkinen was playing and it brought home how good a player he was for us. That guy knows how to play football, just wish he was still with us... quality in midfield and at the back, composed on the ball, could pass, tackle, head and read the game superbly well.  And to think Steve Paterson didn't want to sign him (Duncan Shearer insisted he did).

Yeah, I saw the game, and him. Like you it really did bring home how good a player he was and still is.

He totally commanded the midfield. God how much could we do with him back at Pittodrie now - mind you, being the excellent midfielder he is, JC would probably play him in goals  :-\
