not sure whether I think is a great idea or not
I fully appreciate the possibility that he's one for the future and on minimal salary but, if we have such a little pot to piss in I would have expected any funds being released to be spent on the experience that Brown feels we need.
So assuming the club have absolute faith in Brown to spot a talent, it seems SM just may have thrown a few extra sheckles in the pot, more than we could ever imagine possible given the fiasco of the summer window attempts to fund a left back. (NB I realise that maybe there are incoming offers for players that will go in January. If so, and he can mastermind departures, then I think Brown is 10 times the bloke I think he is)
Bringing in potential for the future at the same time as experienced pro's arriving ...... well well, who'd have ever thunk it

I know it's ridiculously patronising but I can't help thinking, 'for your own sake hud yer wheesht, fella' in some of your posts
I get the point you trying to argue but Hartley is contributing 100% of the time. No player ever has the ball all the time so what you're asking is impossible. Even without the ball he's still having an impact on us. And if every player had his passing and completion rate we wouldn't be raking around the bottom fighting to avoid relegation.
That was bad enough but to compare Zero to Jess??? :o wtf
BB said, 'Jess was a better player, and by a distance, too.' ..... exactly how long is a country mile?
In a nutshell - g'wa an bile yer heed catboy

This is the most pathetic thing I have heard regarding this whole deal. "I'm nae sikin foster back as he played for i huns." Nothing to do with lack of footballing ability. Oh and thats not aimed at you either.
I just wonder if Mcghee thought that Velicka was too good a signing to miss and Mcardle would be a good RB. Obviously not worked out that way but a fully fit Velicka would have been a good signing for us IMO.
We're all guessing after the event but I think that's probably spot on for the thought process. Remember he was desperately trying to ship out others still to get Basey in as a fullback up to this point. Bring in a potentially good goalscorer, secure a fullback plus knock 2k/week off the wages and bobs your uncle. As it happens it got even better than Basey as the vuj arrived for no wages.
There after he just couldn't get them shaped into a team

how long is he likely to get?
commentator on the news said anything from 3-5 years so in line with Archer

What happens on the night will depend on how much powder the Trust kept back for the night.
Strange notion to meet the week prior to discuss the points from the accounts.
If they were notifying the board of the issues they will seek answers to on the night then I can see sense. If it was to accept answers there and then I can see nothing to be gained.
It's been all too easy for the board previously gloss over questions from the floor or even simply tryto belittle the questioner.
New management team or not I think of all agms in recent years they need to provide some serious answers to serious question marks in relation to te next 5 years, starting now ahead of the renegotiations will the bank in early 2011

McNamee was in the paper saying that Dons expressed an interest in him in the summer but never followed it up.
makes it even worse to consider both him and Basey could have been signed for 7 Panina stickers. I heard McGhee only had 1 club badge though and needed a badge for each.

When Dave Cormack was at the club, he would come down to our supporters club in Stirling along with Ebbe, Gardner Spiers and Hugh Little to speak to us and take a Q&A session and he was genuinely interested in taking opinions and suggestions from fans (I think Jager and Reekie and Alfrom may also have been at one or two of these). It might not seem much, and some people may say "nothing will come of it" but they were at least reaching out to the fans at that point. The relationship between club and fans is broken, if the club made gestures such as the above I think it would go some way to fixing things.
We got a lot out of those nights, it made us understand why some decisions were made which we had been unhappy about gave us a bigger understanding of how the club as a whole worked. There are so many things the fans are unhappy about, and so many things we won't even know anything about, if the club could let us in on some of this then it's a step in the right direction.
Maybe I'm misjudging them but can you see Willie Miller seeing that as his job? I think he'd feel that rather beneath him. Anyway, you misery guts in the Bovril Brigade might ask some difficult questions, tutut, can't have that.

If he's still unattached is he really that good? Better than Foster?
he has been sitting with an open offer from Charlton to re-sign there so he could have had a club if he wanted
They must really have offered him bollocks all money if we're the attractive option though
-
I'll give you the postive goalscoring record, but there must be something about being injury prone, otherwise how else do you explain that according to those stats, despite being six years older that Foster, he has only played pretty much the same amount of first team games
was he not simply a 'late starter' before doing anything decent? he signed for them when in his teens but never made the breakthrough to play regularly
he was punted out by FBK twice already before the Hearts loan
-
I thought he had knee ligament damage - but also had a long spell out with an ankle injury?
not that I've seen listed as any long term injury
-
89 goals in 166 for Kaunas
19 in 47 for Hearts
6 in 18 for Viking
4 in 8 for the huns
those are appearances as opposed to starts
long time since we've signed someone with that ratio
doesn't matter how many so called forwards we have on the books, how many of them will get near to 10 goals in a season? Good business getting Velicka
and the chat about always being injured - it's just the one bad injury, not a history of them (a bit like the mythical 'Pawlett is really injury prone')
-
He's quoted elsewhere as saying that Adam Virgo was his top scorer at Brighton when he moved him upfront
Seems he may be serious after all

all councils are bent and Aberdeen is bust just now
the very least the Trump should be told is that if he paid for the new community stadium then his plans for the huge development will be looked on more favourably
what's another 30m when you're looking at the costs he already has?
-
Spiers is usually pretty good - smart arsed twat but usually speaks sense
not too sure about the comparison with Forest though as I thought they brought in at least half a dozen players pre season
-
it's a bag of shite
even if the players don't have the wit to follow a plan or instructions they could at least put a decent shift in
in many walks of life people are not the very best quality at what they do but the effort they make covers up for a multitude of failings
most of our team cannot say they compensate with extra effort

"Miller is a fucking plunger" shocker?
used to be met with 'of fuck, no again' every time he appeared beside Benitez at Liverpool. Couldn't help myself but go off on a rant about how shite he was. Folk would get and move seats in the juicer at the sight of him on the tele as they knew I'd start the same outburst.
still mystified what possessed Liverpool
