He's only been half decent for the past 6 months, if that. I'd make him a final offer and if he refuses then I'd drop the fucker from the squad and see how much interest he gets from not being in the shop window.
If he still goes then we get £300-400k development fee (if that's true) and it also sets a president to any other youth players that they still have a long way to go before the can start acting like prima donnas.
We made him, we should have the balls to break him.
Not sure I'd even go back 6 months... Last few games maybe as he's been consistent. But it shows you what can happen under the right manager, playing in a team with confidence.
The Hibs game was the first I can remember where he has played decent on the wing. Saw him play on the wing against Alloa and he was pathetic; but got moved into the middle in the last 20 mins and had a decent game and scored a cracker. Will be interesting to see where he slots in the next couple of months.
I'd like to see him stay on though. Seems to be developing a great partnership with Vernon.

Looks like he didn't impress in the interview, he's not on the final shortlist of 3.
You know. He probably just referred them to wikipedia. With a few minor edits pre interview. You know.

"I want to look people in the eye and say ‘I really want to do this job’."
Arsehole.

Horrendous. We don't get much luck with injuries.

Congratulations to the BBC for managing to eek out four minutes and thirty five seconds of "action". Fucking awful. Apart from the goal the only decent bit of play was the Hamilton free kick and Clangers save. Fantastic work from Aluko. Did brilliantly to chase the ball down and excellent pass into the penalty box. The rest was inevitable.

Though he was shite yesterday. But at least he recognises that and can therefore do something about it. And he wasn't THAT shite that he needs to apologise for it. He wasn't any better or any worse than most of his colleagues.
-
I suspect that we are going to see Aluko used as an impact player in the latter part of games after a more physical side has battered the opposition. He is not consistent enough to get full games at present.
That would make sense. Although probably more so with the "lesser" teams. But he started against Hibs. I'd heard he was hauled off against Hibs due to a virus, so maybe he was simply rested until the end as Brown wasn't sure if he'd last the pace.

Yes, they all said no.
Awwww.

Probably my own favourite bit of the interview.
Dunno. I liked the subtle hints about Messi. Anyone at Pittodrie able to confirm or deny?

First half in particular he held up the ball on a number of ocassions and released Magennis to run on in good position.
Magennis on the other hand looked like Darren Mackie with muscles
Bottom line regarding Vernon and the split of opinion.....he did exactly what was required off him when it mattered
I agree with your comparison of magennis with mackie. That's exactly what I said after the hibs game. A lot of pace, can take defenders on but wouldn't score in a brothel. Actually, today he even struggled to take defenders on, often checking his run and looking for the pass. A very different player to the one I saw on boxing day.
-
Interesting. Booth was giving him pelters for most of the match.
I'd concur with booth. Thought he was shite throughout. Except when it mattered. And a few decent defence splitting passes.

Crap game but great result. No standout performances really. Bebo in short spells I guess. Aluko changed the game. And cool play from jack and Vernon for the goal. I reckon we might have got a pen in second half. Ref wasn't great throughout.

Wonder if brown will be able to un-veal any new signings before the game?
-
Need to grab the bull by the horns with this one. If it's anything like the hibs game I'd wrap up well or you'll be chilled to t-bone.
-
If it's called off they should be deducted 25 points!!! That should do it.

How did Magennis not bury that free header?? Any kind of striker should put that away. Other than that and Hogg's cock up, looks like we didn't create many other chances?
Haven't seen the highlights but... Magennis had 4 chances, two headers, a one on one and a gut reaction bundle after the keeper spilled bebos shot. And bebos shot. And Hartleys fantastic free kick. There were other chances as well. Magennis should have got at least two. The header and the one on one. Bit of a worry that he didn't, but he's hardly been getting much game time. Think we only had two shots on target in the first half, one of which was the goal.

Don't think we'd have beaten hibs the last time if we'd been on th
e run we have just ended whilst under McGhee. And it was at home. But I must admit, you can't help wondering how good we were, or whether it was hibs that were particularly bad. I think it's a bit of both. But hibs were horrendous. They might yet be in trouble.
-
Could it be that Brown has treated them as men, just like the great Eddie Turnbull did all those years ago.
Quite possibly. I'm no fan of McGhee and can see why the players didn't take to him. But even so. A bit of professional pride. Anyway. Thankfully that's all in the past. Really looking forward to smashing Hamilton now. Assuming it's on.

Great result great game. We deserved to win it based on our second half performance. Although the first half was a bit of a non event. All three goals were short range tap ins or scrambles. But we could have scored three or four more.
Thought Hartley, Vernon and Bebo were excellent. First time I've seen Bebo play well on the wing in recent memory. Magennis is a funny one. A big black version of mackie in some ways. Fast and harasses the defence, but nae luck in front of goal. In my opinion he changed the game. We were fantastic from the moment he came on. He provided an excellent outlet down the wing and was able to do something when he got the ball. He missed some great chances. A couple of headers that the keeper did well to save. And a one on one where poor control took him to close to the keeper. He claimed the keeper took him down, but I couldn't tell.
Not sure what brown did different from McGhee. But the players were transformed. I'm convinced the players simply stopped playing for McGhee, if they ever did. Shocking if so.

Royle Family back to its former glory. Much better than last Xmas.
Absolutely. Two years ago was one of the funniest Xmas day programmes ever. Last years was the opposite. But last nights was more of the good stuff. Loved the fart awareness method, just need to find a gullible volunteer to take the rap.
