Appreciate that's how you earn your livelihood, but if this is the case, it is just as big a problem as any Board indecision/incompetence.  Anyone in the club that has sufficient clout to be that in the know, who is also providing/giving/selling info of that type to the media (or trusting others with it that are), is a HUGE issue and no amount of improvement in technical structure will change that.

I agree with this sentiment, and I know you've said you're not interested, but Beaton gave at least 3 free kicks for similar challenges to the Miovski one which occurred outside the box, but the one in the box is a dive?  Inconsistency is my issue with his decision.  And I think the Roos one was a penalty also - challenged (weakly) for the ball and didn't get it.  Is it soft? Yes, but it's a foul (in both cases).

Agree with this.  The obvious problem with building to this style of play is that 70% of our games (the 30% being Gruesome Twosome, sometimes Edinburgh GT wannabees & Europe), we will have the majority of possession and won't be in a position to play counter attacking football.

Putting all our eggs in the Teklic basket looks like it is going to kill our domestic season, because there is no-one else showing so far that they have the nous or ability to create anything.  Clarkson is watching the ball sail over his head.  I've no idea what McGrath is meant to be offering.  And Shinnie's headless chicken act is exactly that without the Ramadani anchor giving the protection to make that workable.  Barron at least looked to play simple passes and keep the ball with a Dons shirt.  Start there and stop the Hollywood 50 yarders (into touch).  If we're playing Rubezic (and I don't think he's a lost cause yet), give him Barron or Devlin to pass short to - every time.  Jensen is not a left back, so let's not kid ourselves that is an option.

Only positive from today was that Gartenmann looks like he can actually play this game - just need some of the rest of them to help him out.

Last year was 179.99 for International, according to the email receipt I just looked up.  It's still a fair hike, but presentation/content has generally improved in quality over past 2-3 years and, like you say, it's the only way to see the Dandies for us that aren't there any more.  Hope the stream quality increase doesn't cause buffering issues, but I'd still say it's decent value for a "captive" service.

One for Irvine was against Hibs in Nov '91 when Snelders got sent off for decking Keith Wright (Irvine saved the pen), so yes for that in 91-92 (as Watt played the next game). 

And you can add Peter Van de Ven to the other 3 in 90-91 (went in goals for injured Snelders at Easter Rd - I remember that one, as he spent a good bit of the time conducting the away end songs).

Brian Irvine played in goal, if we're adding players who went in mid-match (twice, IIRC).

I thought the first pen was soft, but Fitzwater didn't put up any complaint at all, which would tend to suggest he knew what he was doing.  2nd one, the defender clearly caught Duk's foot as he was sliding by and I'd have been raging if we didn't get the pen for it.  The Stewart one would likely have been given by VAR (so we got lucky there)

IMHO, part of the reason that we've struggled as a creative unit over the last 3 seasons is the "undroppable" Ferguson.

I'm maybe missing a lot of the off the ball work he does (as I am only watching from afar on RedTV), but for a guy with the supposed pedigree and admirers he has, there are a real dearth of games that I can remember where he has grabbed a game by the scruff of the neck and actually controlled it like a CM should (and like I'd expect of a "multi-million pound" player in the SPL).  Every other Dons midfielder has had to try to fit in around the game that he wants to play (sometimes deep lying, sometimes roving attacker), so they're ultimately not as effective (as he's often occupying the space they should be in).

I do think he'd thrive with better players around him, but still believe we should've seen much more in a Dons shirt from a guy with aspirations to play in the EPL or Serie A.  I believe McLean, Shinnie and even Christie actually delivered more as Dons central midfield players than Ferguson has.  And I think Barron has shown more of the influence I'd expect from an international than Ferguson has in the 2nd half of this season.

I noticed his name today, too, so had a dig about.  UEFA rules seem to be that no one owner can have a controlling interest over 2 clubs, but they can have an interest in more than one.  The BBC article says Crotty is a Director of Ineos, which wouldn't necessarily mean that he'd then become a director of Chelsea if Ineos bid was successful (but it seems likely).  Also not sure if Crotty is already a director at Nice (which Ineos also hold ownership stake in).  His investment in Aberdeen was (I think) reported as personal contribution, rather than on behalf of Ineos, which would likely also make a difference from a regulatory point of view.  It's a bit of a strange scenario, though...

For the 2nd, I am more with OrlandoDon here, as Lewis is seeing the ball coming in all the way and it ends up dropping about 8 yards out (with the defensive line held at the edge of the box for the kick).  Most worrying thing is that it was a virtual carbon copy of the (not Curtis Main) one against St Mirren and we still haven't sorted out whose responsibility it should be.

If a kid isn't going to be in the team or match day squad by a certain age, but you want to hang on to them, then it's got to be a loan at that point. But that requires clubs to take a proper long-term view and I'm not sure we've been that kind of club for a long, long time.

It's maybe a bit unfair to make that point now, considering we're posting on a thread about our players that are out on loan and the majority of the youth squad are now being sent out elsewhere to get development time.  If you want to point the finger, I think the guy who's just taken Campbell on loan is the one who should be on the end of it.  I've no argument that he failed the youth players (and the club) in this regard.

He was in the MLS Re-Entry draft list in December (players over 22 whose contract hadn't been extended by current club i.e. Atlanta).  The list said there was an option, so presumably the loan deal (which is with MLS, not Atlanta) could be extended if another MLS club wanted him.  He wasn't picked up in that draft, but is now made available to all MLS clubs on first come, first served basis.  No idea how long that remains open for.
