  1. Tannadice has by far the worst stewards from my expierences.  God help you if you're stuck in the Jerry Kerr stand.  Awful seating and you get no leg room but that doesn't stop the stewards and their police chums from chucking out anyone who dares to stand.

  2. Just a thought,

this game is a sell out,

will any of the money from this be getting reinvested in the squad?

I don't think the money is going to the first team.  Some of it is defiantly going to the youth development side of things.

  4. One for the SFA, but fitting a bar in the RDS concourse for pre-match and half-time drinks!  Preferably with some Dunkel and Jagermeister!

If they did start serving drink like that at games they better make it pre-match and half-time only other wise I'd never see a game ;D

Wouldn't mind the penalty shoot out thing making a return to half time breaks.  Used to quite enjoy watching that.

  5. Anyone heard his post match thoughts yet?  I presume they centred on how tight the board are, how poor the players were, how unrealistic the fans are and how brilliantly he has done getting us so far in europe.

  6. Pop Star Amy MacDonald Falls For SPL Star

Exclusive Singer Amy Scores With Dons Striker

POP star Amy Macdonald has found love with an SPL soccer star.

The Scots singer is dating Aberdeen striker Steve Lovell - a hero in their 2-2 midweek Euro tie with Bayern Munich.

Amy, who topped the charts with debut album This Is The Life, has told pals she has fallen for the hunky footballer.

A picture of the singer and her new love snuggling up together has been posted on the Facebook website

A friend said: "It was Amy's way of telling the world there is a new man in her life. They have been dating and grown very close.

"Amy has been very busy on a UK tour so they haven't been able to see too much of each other. It's very early days for their relationship.

"Amy has said she's really looking forward to seeing more of Steve when she finishes this run of gigs."

Amy, 20, from Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow, split from boyfriend Gregor MacDonald at Christmas after he had quit his day job in an insurance call centre to spend more time with her.

Gregor also played guitar with Scots rock band The Maple Thieves and joined the singer on her recent sell-out UK tour.

The pair started dating in February 2007 before Amy's pop career took off.

After their split, he went on holiday to Vienna to visit his mother and get over the break up.

An insider said: "Amy and Greg got close really quickly. No one knows what went wrong."

Now Englishman Steve, 27, has helped mend Amy's broken heart.

The singer was named as one of the star attractions at this summer's T in the Park festival on July 11-13.

She played the new bands stage last year.

  7. I'll be there.  In the Jerry Kerr stand though but that doesn't matter as long as I'm there!  Although I've been told that there isn't much leg room in the Jerry Kerr stand, I'm approx. 6 foot 2.  Am I going to be able to actually sit on my seat!?

  8. "More news and pictures from Egypt and Denmark to follow"

Fuck sake, are they going to have pictures of JC in the duty free shop and Stevie Lovell racing Chris Maguire on the Out Run machine? (I don't know if Egypt has more modern games)

    :lolabove:

I'd love it if we got some pics on RedWeb.  We've already got Mair doing his "walk like an Egyptian" dance.

  9. The timetable for the Dons pre-season trip to Egypt was announced today and the Dons were drawn in-group A alongside hosts, Ettehad, Arab Contractors and Alumenem. The Ettehad 1st International Football Tournament gets underway on Wednesday 18th July and Aberdeen face Arab Contractors in the second tie of the day, which kicks off at 9:30 in the evening. The Dons then face Alumenem on Saturday 21st July before facing their hosts in the last group match on the Monday. These matches also kick off at 9:30.

The Final and the third/fourth play offs then take place on Thursday 26th July. Manager Jimmy Calderwood is pleased with the organisation of the tournament and is looking forward to the trip. He told RedWeb:

"We will be playing four games in Egypt. I was treated very well when I went over there earlier this year. I went over to check everything out and the fixtures are all in the evening, which is something I wanted. We also secured the training facilities that I asked for so I am sure the boys will enjoy it over there."

You can find out more about the tournament by visiting the official website. It will have all the up to date news on the tournament. Click here for more information.

The teams competing in the tournament are:

Group A : Etehad, Aberdeen, Arab Contractors, Alumenum.

Group B : Maritimo, Almasry, Petrojet, Egypt Telecom (Itisalat)

Good to know who we'll be playing now, even if I've never heard of any of the team except for the Portuguese side.

And here is the official tournament website - http://www.itthad.com/toureng.php

  10. Saw on the EE website today that Hart and Foster are in talks over new deals.  Noticed we have a fair few out of contract at the end of the season.  Who do you think deserves a new contract and who doesn't?

Derek Soutar - No deal, never been a fan of him

Jamie Langfield - Deal but would like a goalkeeper of better ability to replace Soutar

Barry Nicholson - Deal, one of our best players last season

Steve Lovell - Deal, he can be our the goal scorer we need, just needs to stay fit

Lee Miller - Deal, think he'll be a better player for us next season

Chris Clark- Deal but would be nice to replace him with a more complete midfielder

Zander Diamond - Maybe, big chance for him now.  If hes still making an arse of himself by Xmas we may need to consider moving him on

Richie Byrne - NO DEAL!! Just heard hes injured again and out for 8 weeks, pish player as well

Richard Foster - 12 months ago I would have said no deal but I think hes useful to have in the squad

Michael Hart - Deal, can't afford to lose him since we lost Anderson.

Could have listed Brewster as well but who'd be daft enough to say hes worth an extend playing deal beyond December!

  11. Being rumoured on Aberdeen-mad that Cardiff are about to launch a 700,000 quid bid for Michael Hart.

Anyone getting a bit uneasy about all of this?

    :

For fuck sake.  Anderson is a big loss and we could do without losing Hart as well.  Mon Aberdeen  board/management get our decent players onto longer deals ASAP!

  12. Not sure if this has been posted on here yet.

Shrewsbury Town manager Gary Peters admits he is willing to let goalkeeper Ryan Esson leave the club for free.

The 27-year-old signed for Shrews last summer from Aberdeen and he may be set for a return to his former club.

"Ryan's agent asked if there'd be a fee if there was a chance of a move back to Aberdeen," he told the Shropshire Star.

"We would not stand in Ryan's way by putting a fee on his head. Ryan's had an unfortunate season with injuries and he's not much of a sellable commodity."

  13. There's a big case going on at the moment relating to the copyrighting of fixture lists. The court case argues that without fixture lists the sports of football and horse-racing would cease to exist, as these sports reply primarily on the income generated from fans coming thru the turnstiles. If the fans don't know where to go and when, then these sports would cease to exist. Another issue regarding the copyrighting of fixture lists is that it is against international law to copyright a series of dates placed on a calendar ... essentially what fixture lists are.

However, whilst this case is going on, we are under obligation to pay the copyright holders their due.

During 2nd year at uni we did a module on Professional Issues and half of it was about law.  One of the cases our lecturers mentioned was a case dating back a few decades between the football league and Littlewoods Pools.

Good article here about it - http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,,1671699,00.html

Says that the money made from fixture lists accounts for 22% of the yearly revenue for clubs outside the SPL.
