  1. why Aberdeen?! i don't realise i had any say in the matter?? you don't choose your football team - your dad does!
  2. Queen of the South please. wish they didn't bother with this 'seeding' malarkey for the CIS though....
  3. apparently he had a go at the dons in the news of the world today - i don't buy the rag, has anyone seen it? what did he say?
  4. too young to remember Leighton in his 'prime' - Theo was always a hero til me, til he went to the dark-side....... Saw Leighton in Cafe Continental when i was 10 and out for my lunch with my ma, so wandered over and got an autograph (though he, probably quite rightly, looked pissed aff at getting interrupted when out with his family).... spurred on by my bravery in approaching him, by the time i had got him to write out an autograph for me, a queue of about 15 other kids had formed! fair play to him, he signed them all............ though rather grumpily!
  5. i see in the "birthdays" section big Jim Leighton is 50 today. one of our best ever keepers.......... but i don't rate him at seeing talent in other keepers
  6. Mackie, whilst a hard worker and a big dons fan, is simply not good enough for us. he wasn't even the best player at Colony Park when he signed for the dons, just the fastest
  7. what are they talking about?! that was one of the greatest ever transfer deals. for us. my big bro somehow has an Eoin Jess signed Coventry top!
  8. was reading this article on Soutars proposed deal with Hartlepool: http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/hufc/Pools-to-make-decision-on.4292188.jp and saw this wee nugget, detailing Soutars failure to become no.1 at todders: "I think the problem they had at Aberdeen is they have got an exceptional young goalkeeper and maybe he didn't think he was going to get as many games." so who's this exceptional young keeper we've got? Clangers and Bossu better watch their backs
  9. on www.newsnow.co.uk McNamee's agent reckons he will be staying down south
  10. this'll save us some cash, and the need to get a new player in...... Jimmy reckons Jeffrey de Visscher is gonna be a big player for us next year: http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/709696 "ABERDEEN winger Jeffrey de Visscher was today tipped to finally shine in the SPL. Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood is convinced the Dutchman will prove his worth in the new season. The 27-year-old struggled in his debut campaign at Pittodrie and made just 16 first team starts. “Everyone will see a much better Jeffrey de Visscher next season,†said Calderwood. “It’s always a bit of a culture shock for foreign players when they experience Scottish football for the first time. “There’s no doubting Jeffrey’s quality and he’s extremely clever on the ball. “There were matches last season when we really impressed, mainly because he was so influential.†De Visscher, like the rest of the first team squad, was left with a strict fitness regime to follow during the close season. And Calderwood reckons if the former De Graafschap player comes back in peak physical condition it will help him on the pitch as he bids to nail a place in the team. He added: “Jeffrey has been told he needs to improve his fitness levels if he’s going to be a real success in Scotland. “I expect he will have been working hard on that during the summer. “If he can get that side of his game right then there is little doubt that will help him to develop even further. “He’s also got a year’s experience of playing in the SPL so that can only help him. “Jeffrey now knows exactly what to expect in terms of what the opposing teams are like, and what we expect at Aberdeen. “I would like to think he’ll be better equipped for life in Scotland.†De Visscher will report with the rest of Calderwood’s charges for pre-season training on Monday"
  11. Jess versus the huns at Greyskull? ...... or was that more than 10years ago?!?! probably....
