  1. http://forum.dafc.net/read.php?f=1&i=626474&t=626474 i hadnt heard anything about him but reading this lot, i like the sound of him. crossed fingers
  2. as echoed by many other already, is there any point to us playin barca? well get shat on and barely touch the ball much like we did against liverpool when we got battered. Dont get me wrong, id love to have Ronaldinho & co visit pittodrie, but id rather it happened in next seasons champions league 1/4 final
  3. its a silly little thing, but maybe easier to achieve than a singular, united message board. im just used to is seeing the post number in each thread now. makes it so much easier to find things when you remember what number the reply was. The way the old DT ran was fine. I think all you can really hope for is that afchat goes down like DT of old used to do so. Folk are aware DT is back so its just a waiting game now.
  4. numbers mean nothing really. more for folk to splurge more money to get their shirt printed. although i cant see anyone wanting to spend an extra tenner to get either soapy or clanngers on their shirt
  5. thats not the point of training in the heat. You train in the heat to aclimatise the body to exercising using less oxygen, less water and therefore increasing heart rate = training adaptation in a much shorter time period. ie they get fitter a lot faster. You train to raise the heart rate to its max faster then allow it to come back down to near resting levels before training again. Basic principle of interval training which works best in the heat. Also, mutliple stuides show that temperatures of at least 34 degrees are needed to limit intra-muscular injuries. Anything below that will need an intense warm up - a warm up in that heat would sap the strength of the players meaning they cant do the activity planned. Ill agree that egypt was a stretch too far but as already highlighted, it was for monetary reasons. Southern europe is as far as any team should really be travellling for a pre-season.
  6. ill like to add my contribution to afc chat coz i think its good even if noone else does: directed to the away fans hes shagged all your birds hes shagged all your birds wi-(h)is great big pisher jeff de vischer hes shagged all your birds
  7. gutted to lose him, glad hes going to get the chance of a bigger stage now which can only be good for scotland. sunderland are now one of my english teams
