The Scots singer is dating Aberdeen striker Steve Lovell - a hero in their 2-2 midweek Euro tie with Bayern Munich. Amy, who topped the charts with debut album This Is The Life, has told pals she has fallen for the hunky footballer. A picture of the singer and her new love snuggling up together has been posted on the Facebook website A friend said: "It was Amy's way of telling the world there is a new man in her life. They have been dating and grown very close. "Amy has been very busy on a UK tour so they haven't been able to see too much of each other. It's very early days for their relationship. "Amy has said she's really looking forward to seeing more of Steve when she finishes this run of gigs." Amy, 20, from Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow, split from boyfriend Gregor MacDonald at Christmas after he had quit his day job in an insurance call centre to spend more time with her. Gregor also played guitar with Scots rock band The Maple Thieves and joined the singer on her recent sell-out UK tour. The pair started dating in February 2007 before Amy's pop career took off. After their split, he went on holiday to Vienna to visit his mother and get over the break up. An insider said: "Amy and Greg got close really quickly. No one knows what went wrong." Now Englishman Steve, 27, has helped mend Amy's broken heart. The singer was named as one of the star attractions at this summer's T in the Park festival on July 11-13.
