  1. For crying out loud can't we for ONCE display some sort of positive thinking!! It's always the same old story on here - doom and gloom! Admittedly we're incredibly lucky given how we've underachieved so far this season, to still even be in with the slimmest of hopes of top 6 football. Fact is though WE ARE in with a shout. It's a funny old game and my money will be firmly on the Dandies come Saturday. It's time that Lady Luck was shining down on us for a change
  2. Seriously all of you that are bitching and whining about what an uninspiring appointment McInnes is .....GET OVER IT and get behind the club that you all claim to support. I'm as frustrated at how things have been as the next person but I will support AFC through thick and thin. As a club, we have a hell of a lot to prove if we want to be considered a big club in the current climate. At the moment we're simply clinging to the label of what we once were. We can get that back to some extent, but we're going to need to go right back to basics. So if the rumours are true... Welcome Derek McInnes. COYR
  3. We have our best opportunity yet to make a decent amount of progress on the field this year, and were WELL on the way to taking a point yesterday. Langfield let his team-mates down AND all the supporters. Did no one else notice that at the final whistle NONE of his team mates even approached him?? The club asked us to back them after the Rangers fiasco which we've done in huge numbers, but how long will it be before the long suffering support again say enough's enough when Clangers constantly gets the nod even when we know that inevitably, he's going to cost us points/ games?? I appreciate that everyone makes mistakes, but I have to say that despite having given Langfield the benefit of the doubt many times, his mistakes are far too frequent for the level he is playing at, and I'd have to say I agree with some of the posts on here asking why we'd let someone who was so blase about losing 9 goals to Celtic previously, back in goals yesterday?! Admittedly Jamie pulled off a couple of crackers yesterday also, however, when it came to it, he couldn't make the most basic of blocks. One of the things that angered me have been the comments about the Defence yesterday. The defence yesterday was the most solid I have seen it at Celtic Park for many a year, yet we still see fit to criticise them?? What's that about?? I agree that their handling of the short corner that led to the goal was questionable, BUT the bottom line is that the goalkeeper forms the LAST line of defence, so in the event that the defence do fall short, then the goalie is there to finish the job. Definitely think that Brown has to be given the nod ahead of Clangers for the County game though. Longer term though, we need to be bringing someone in who can be moulded. My preference would be Michal Kula, he's the Polish keeper that was at Peterhead a few seasons ago and is currently playing in Cyprus. He's one who I think, under the influence of Leighton, be a solid keeper for us. Overall though, a great deal of positives to take from yesterday I thought. Thought Naismith looked solid, and credit to him for coming through as much of the match as he did. He's one I feel who, once up to full match fitness is going to do well for us. Was fantastic to see Russell lead the team out yesterday too, and by no coincidence, Considine looked far more settled and much more solid in his role. Credit to Ryan Jack - 3 positions within the 90 mns yesterday and embraced every single one. His work rate was phenomenal. Thought also that Stephen Hughes played well yesterday. I still have some reservations about him but thought yesterday was def one of his better performances.
  4. It let me renew my tickets online last night. Plus got them at the early bird price also. Really encouraged to see everyone sticking to their word to back the club.
  5. Least we're attempting to do SOMETHING Tyrant..... what have you done to make your views known?? or are you one of these guys that prefer to sit back and do nothing then whine and moan about it when things don't work as you'd like???
  6. Hey guys, We've raised a petition so that football fans across the whole of the SPL can show their support if they feel that a Rangers Newco should be refused access to the SPL. It may be in vain, because at the end of the day, the Chairman will do what they like regardless, or, at least some will.....but they have to be made aware that they run the risk of alienating their own support, when realistically, they really cannot afford to. Would really love to see this gain a bit of momentum, so I'd urge you all to sign it and make your mates, colleagues, etc aware of it so we can get a decent response to present to the SPL and SFA ahead of the Chairmen making their decision. The petition can be found at: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/say-no-to-a-rangers-fc-newco-in-the-spl.html
  7. Brown seems to have made it clear though that there'll be no way back for him at Pittodrie if the move to Hearts does fall through!
  8. cheers guys, did think those 2 might be the favourites but just thought I'd best check
  9. Sorry if this has already been asked, not had much of a chance to go through all the posts, but where's everone drinking pre-match on Saturday??
