Is not bias though, it's understanding our audience and what content they're digesting and what they're not. You could argue we're more of a football department than a sports department for example. Glasgow Clan ice hockey team gets more fans through the door than a lot of Scottish championship teams.

This will shock you, but I like Kenny. He's actually a good c**t.

In fairness Panda he quite possibly is, but in this instance we're not comparing apples with apples 😉

I should have added that I also think that you are right to highlight all the good output they do, I think you're correct. I thought their coverage was good at the weekend and the championship coverage on a Friday excellent too. Their main radio show on a Saturday is appallingly bad since Richard Gordon left.

Completely agree with the last sentence.

Not a fan of Kenny McIntyre to be honest.

There is content from all 12 Premiership teams and beyond on all the BBC output (tv, radio, online & social). You may even have enjoyed a special feature on the highland league title conclusion.

Is there more coverage to the old firm than others. Yes, that's because we don't have as many Livingston fans as we do Celtic fans. Likewise, Aberdeen get more coverage than most too. Our dedicated team pages - the stats are eye opening.

However, great coverage is given to every team within a limited budget. You can't say the BBC don't care about Aberdeen, go see the tranche of coverage Jimmy Thelin was getting on all the output. We had a commentary team, reporters & pundits out at every Aberdeen European away game plus live TV coverage of the qualifiers.

So no, you can't compare it to Viaplay/Premier.

A passionate and undoubtedly truthful defence Panda 👍

My objective with my comment was not to single out the BBC as being any worse than any other media source in Scotland, but they are equally guilty in my opinion.

Fully accept that the larger the fan base, the greater coverage a club is likely to get, however it is the manner of reporting that causes me issues.  In any sports bulletin, mention one arse cheek and they feel they have to then follow it up with a story about the other cheek for fear of one half of Glasgow shouting media bias.

Ultimately I think we all know what I mean 😉

Well done premier sports for their commentary on that incident.

That makes up for them literally only giving a fuck about two teams.

Are we seriously suggesting that others, BBC included, do ?

All Scottish media feeds from the same trough unfortunately

I always thought the talk was that Leven didn’t want to be a manager. Wouldn’t be great from a continuity perspective.

He has said in time he would like to be his own man.

I don't think this is the right move for him however and think it would benefit him to stay where he is for at least a season learning under Thelin

Meant to say previously, I had the conviction in my forecast to place a tenner on Miovski first goal scorer and 2-1 us @ 155/1.

At least the dream was alive for the first hour 😉

I'm probably going to watch a fair few of these (well, have on my second screen whilst I play football manager anyway) and given some of you might be interested I thought I would post my thoughts on them here.

home to Kalmar this eve, 6pm KO.

    Goal down already.

He's already downed tools, doesn't give a fuck. He's Aberdeen through and through now, just going through the motions with those Swedish losers.

    Think Rico has called it

Scales and 10 mill and I’d pay attention. FWIW, hasn’t scales been one of their better players this year?

Apparently not according to him and comments I have read elsewhere online.

To be honest stopped paying attention to him as soon as it became clear that Roy wasn't going to sell him to us

Biggest signing of this summer will be Miovski’s new contract!

Tim suggested to me (and yes he was being completely serious) yesterday that in the summer they will give us Scales and £1m for Miovski and that of course we would take it.

Deluded fuckwit doesn't even come close to summing that up

I wonder what sort of markets we will be looking at this summer. It seems very likely to me at least a couple of the new bodies coming in will be from scandanavia.   I wonder Thelin will raid his old club 🤔

I've had the impression (rightly or wrongly) that clubs from a number of Scandinavian countries target players in the African continent with a view to developing and selling on at profit.

Will we see us targeting that market in the way we seem to have done with the Balkan countries ?

Oh, sorry, forgot to complain about the earliness of this thread appearing. Disgusting. Makes me sick.

    Quite fucking right Rico.

Somewhat delayed reaction to your post but only just noticed this comment.

Even I didn't have the audacity to start it the third week in February 😉

  12. Just home.

Tired and emotional, what a fucking bounce in our end. Not good for a man of my advanced years.

I have been to many a semi or final o'er the years and that one had the potential to be the greatest ever at Hampden.

Going into the penalty shoot out, given the manner of how we got there I felt certain this was finally our day against them at Hampden.

Haven't seen any TV pictures of the action, haven't yet read the comments on here but surely Robertson and his chums on VAR had a howler ?

Actually, I don't agree with that.  I think it just needs taken to the court of arbitration for sport by hearts, hibs and Aberdeen.  It would get sorted out very quickly and the precedent would then be set.

Fair point TLG, problem with that is none of the clubs have the balls to take this on.

Only occasion it might have been potentially possible would have been during the Mad Vlad period at Hearts in my opinion.

I just read about Hearts perhaps having to pay for the unsold tickets, it's fucking scandalous. The default should be fairness, with everything else an addition. It's incredible that we've allowed unfairness to be the default, and fairness comes with a few. It's genuinely still staggering after all the years of it happening.

It'll never change until they fuck off and leave the rest of us to get on with it.

The league would be more competitive, more entertaining and fairer.

Yes, we might all have to pull our reins in financially but over time it will sort itself out.

I fear it won't be in my lifetime, if indeed ever.

Post split fixtures have been released, I'd say they've fallen kindly.

    https://www.afc.co.uk/2024/04/16/23-24-post-split-fixtures-confirmed/

Our 2023/24 post-split fixtures have been confirmed by the SPFL this afternoon. Our final five games of the season will see the Dons play three games at Pittodrie and two on the road. We start our post-split fixtures on Saturday 27th April at home to Motherwell and round off the cinch Premiership season with an away trip to Dingwall to play Ross County.

    Confirmed fixtures:

    Date Fixture Home/Away Kick-Off
Saturday 27th April Aberdeen v Motherwell Home 3pm
Saturday 4th May Aberdeen v St Johnstone Home 3pm
Sunday 12th May Hibernian v Aberdeen Away 3pm
Wednesday 15th May Aberdeen v Livingston Home 7.45pm
Sunday 19th May Ross County v Aberdeen Away 3pm

Hopefully get this tied up in first couple of fixtures.

God help us if we're off to Dingwall on the 19th needing a result 😲

If Elfsborg announce Jimmy Thelin to Aberdeen on our behalf, that would be quite funny. Although I suspect we're hastily arranging a social media post for lunchtime to proceed it.

No word of a hastily called press conference circulating at work Panda ?
