Erm, thanks, I guess.

Point of order. I ONLY engage arsiness when dealing with a total arse.

Or with a cunt who might not be an arse but who is being wide.

It's a compliment Rocket  ;)

You know Rocket, there are times you can be an arse AND then there are times when you can put things ever so eloquently.
Think we all know which one this is.
Powerful words RS

Great men do great things.

Great men create great things.

Great men achieve great things.

By every measure, Billy McNeill was a great man. RIP.

Totally agree with all these sentiments, remember his first game at Pittodrie, only rangers.  Billy gets the crowd immediately on his side, wearing a red shirt & a red tie :)  , Beach End singing "There's only one King Billy that's McNeill"
Trying to think of who all came in while Billy was in charge, certainly Archibald (30k Clyde) sold £800k Spurs, Strachan (40k Dundee) , Ian Fleming ? Dom Sullivan ? all around that period.
Was quoted as saying, he loved his time in Aberdeen & really should have stayed longer.  Great player, manager & came across as a real gentleman.
R.i.p Billy :frown:

Gave Neil Simpson his first professional contract 👍

Shame to hear. Only caught the first half hour before switching to BBC2 to see a famous Scottish victory, despite the inclusion of a freak young man as captain of the opposition. The Edinburgh captain was himself freakily good in the second half.

Higuain's goal was class. Caught the last 20 minutes too and once again, Chelsea were disjointed and failing to get the most from a supremely talented bunch. No Willian on the bench may suggest an injury. Ruben's a right talent, a big unit with great feet.

appeared to get a motorboat from a woman in the crowd for his trouble  ;D

Latest adventure recently was the 4 Munro circuit called the Ring of Steall,up Glen Nevis,Fort William.A long day(10-12 hrs),with narrow ridges and bits of scrambling for added fun.John,my walking pal, recently did the Mont Blanc traverse,ie a high alpine route through the Alps, avoiding summits),and said this route was as close as it's felt to being an alpine route.Typical section below

 Route details here https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/fortwilliam/ringofsteall.shtml

Even if that route doesnt float your boat,The walk up Glen Nevis(around an hours walk) is worth a wander in itself, walking thru a rocky narrow gorge, ending at one of the best waterfalls in Scotland(Falls of Steall).Only downside is if you want to get right up and close to the waterfall, you have to cross this wire bridge to get to it.2 wires for hands, one wire for feet

Failing that theres a shallow crossable stream en route if yuove a pair of crocs or wellies

So chuffed where my 60 year old friend Billy is concerned who has been backing horses for nigh on forty years and had his first ever 40p Win Lucky 15 with all four selections winning on Good Friday!!!!  Picked Watersmeet (7/1), Global Warning (3/1), Fox Power (7/1) and Oh This Is Us (5/1).  The latter only won by three quarters of a length having been second last with just over two furlong to go.

Younger brother Brian said Billy had head in hands tutting away but thankful the treble was giving him at least £161 for his six pound stake to crying uncontrollably like an emotional wreck!!!!  He then decided rather than cooking tea later that night he'd head up Chip Shop and get them both plus their lodger Wulf dinner there.  Apparently stopped at one of the local pubs for a Bacardi and Coke hoping his legs would stop wobbling!!!!

His payout was £1,127.60 like.

First trip to Pittodrie was during his tenure.Gutted when he left.
Doubt you'll get many opposition fans with a bad word to say about him.Always managed to maintain a bit of decorum about him, whatever results his various sides had.

    A true Gent

Ball just puts in a good robust challenge. There's no way he'd be cited for that. I don't see the leg headbutt on the replay, but that's not to say it didn't occur after. The ref is looking at the incident from shortly after the moment the ball goes loose, so he'd have seen the majority of it. There's certainly not enough video evidence to cite Ball for anything is there?
