  1. Christ boys, the guy hasn't even started and already he's being slated. I personally think it's a ballsy move bringing in someone like Brown to assist Glass knowing the blowback there's going to be. Don't get me wrong, I've hated Brown as much as the next guy but if he pulls on an Aberdeen shirt he'll have my full support. I was a supporter of McInnes although I accepted that since the end of the year the time had come to try something new. I'll support Glass 100% - if he doesn't work out then he doesn't work out but thank Christ in my opinion we didn't hire someone else like John Hughes or Tommy Wright. The standard of MLS is far better than it's given credit for and when Glass took over the Atlanta role on an interim basis they were playing in front of 50,000 people. In short, give the loon a chance. Let him try bringing through youth, different tactics and his own players. It might be a disaster, it might be an outrageous success but candidly we're here to win and sometimes that means we have to try something different... otherwise what's the point?
  2. I agree 100% LA-Don. Considine has been a consistent player for us in recent years, dependable and a true dandy. However I think a lot of folk are looking back with red tinted glasses - he was consistently shite in his early years. A solid Aberdeen man, rightly capped for his country but nowhere near the level of a Legend IMHO.
  3. It says something when we are all gutted with a draw and an injury time equalizer. Wright and Hedges are just so good together, Cosgrove was rusty to say the least.
  4. Very sad news - was a huge fan of Uncle Ebbe. Remember wearing my Danmark hat fondly to a game when it was 'Danish Day'! I don't remember exactly why he left but I think he got us to Europe in his final season and a couple of cup finals one year, even if we did finish bottom one year. The thing about Ebbe's reign was that although we were mostly shite we had so much talent (Kjaer, BobbyBiscuit, Jess, Belabed, Zero, Stavrum, Guntveit, Delameaux, Dadi etc) and on any given day we could beat any opposition.
  5. I’m in the USA so I’ve got RedTV International but I believe if you have a season ticket then access is removed once you’re allowed back into the grounds. The quality of RedTV this year - especially pre match and half time is far superior!
  6. Joey Harpers half-masts the day are legendary!!
  7. https://talksport.com/football/757545/newcastle-signing-ryan-fraser-is-a-wretched-individual-and-a-turd-says-simon-jordan-who-blasts-winger-for-ditching-bournemouth-before-relegation/ Don’t usually agree with him but seems pretty on point here. Fraser has really let himself down with how he handled this one.
  8. "unless locking them up is 'more'?" In 2018, Trump signed the First Step Act, a criminal justice bill which enacted reforms that make the justice system fairer and help former inmates successfully return to society. The First Step Act’s reforms addressed inequities in sentencing laws that disproportionately harmed Black Americans and reformed mandatory minimums that created unfair outcomes. The First Step Act expanded judicial discretion in sentencing of non-violent crimes. Over 90% of those benefiting from the retroactive sentencing reductions in the First Step Act are Black Americans. The First Step Act provides rehabilitative programs to inmates, helping them successfully rejoin society and not return to crime. Trump increased funding for historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) by more than 14%. Trump signed legislation forgiving Hurricane Katrina debt that threatened HBCUs. New single-family home sales are up 31.6% in October 2019 compared to just the previous year. Made HBCUs a priority by creating the position of executive director of the White House Initiative on HBCUs. Trump received the Bipartisan Justice Award at a historically black college for his criminal justice reform accomplishments. The poverty rate fell to a 17-year low of 11.8% under the Trump administration as a result of a jobs-rich environment. Poverty rates for African-Americans and Hispanic-Americans have reached their lowest levels since the U.S. began collecting such data. Now don't get me wrong, is he a complete buffoon at times? ABSOLUTELY. However, suggesting that his only achievement is "locking them up" is quite clearly ridiculous.
  9. Alas this is the problem. It isn't just happening since Trump got elected, but it sure as hell is getting the media coverage. Under Obama - just from memory - there was rioting in Ferguson, Oakland (Michael Brown), Baltimore (Freddie Gray) and Charlotte (Lamont Scott). I'm sure there were more but my memory fails me. In many of these cases the initial narrative is "Bad police shoot unarmed black man". Then it's discovered that there's more to it, such as Michael Brown trying to wrestle the gun from the cop. Or in the more recent case of Jacob Blake (accused of rape) went for a knife AFTER having been tased. Excuse the unfortunate pun but it's rarely black and white and the media love whipping people into a frenzy and for a long time the Democrats actively encouraged the riots because it was helping them in the polls. However, since recent polling has shown people have started to change their views (e.g. LA-Don has given you his reasons in this thread - it has gone from peaceful protesting for a just cause to wanton thuggery and violence) they've started walking that back. They have the power to end the rioting if they so choose but until the last couple of days the Democratic Mayors and Governors have fanned the flames in order to push their narrative.
