Computer expert needed

Bear in mind that I get lost after the instruction “plug it in”

Anyway, despite having deliberately avoided having a clue about computers and how they work, I thought I would have a go at replacing the battery inside my computer.

Relying on YouTube, I have pressed f2 , restored factory settings, updated the time, but while their computer starts again mine wont open windows.

Obviously I have let the computer look for repairs but no good.

What do I do now?

I’ve already turned it off and turned it on again which is normally the limit of my ability.

If I’d read my own post yesterday I wouldn’t have had a bloody clue what I was on about.

I only changed a battery for fuck sake, why has everything got to be so bloody complicated?

Is it windows 10? Does your old battery work when you put it back in? Is the new battery fully charged? If not, do that then let it drain and then charge fully again. Then try. Maybe.

I managed to get the thing to a bloke who’s shop in closed but is “working from home”

Hopefully he manages to locate the problem.

Donsdaft, my friend Dave works for IT Department at East Lothian Council and has been responsible alongside another of his colleagues for looking after their whole network from home while Coronavirus Chaos been happening.  Pity you didn't live close to me!!  He built me a new computer which I'm so pleased with.
